Just days after releasing Version 3 of the PACT Standard, PACT was proud to join global leaders, innovators, and changemakers at Ecosperity Week 2025 in Singapore. Over four days of high-level forums, hands-on workshops, and media engagements, we demonstrated how bold partnerships and practical tools are driving real progress on product-level decarbonization throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
Key Announcement: Partnership with Singapore Business Federation
On June 4, PACT and the Singapore Business Federation (SBF) signed a memorandum of understanding to enable tens of thousands of Singapore-based companies to calculate and exchange Product Carbon Footprints (PCFs) using the PACT Standard. As part of this collaboration:
- SEFR Adopts the PACT Standard
The Singapore Emissions Factor Registry (SEFR) will become the first emissions registry worldwide to implement the PACT Standard, setting a powerful precedent for transparent, comparable product-level emissions data. - Press Conference and Media Coverage
The partnership launch, highlighted by an onstage MoU signing, attracted three-quarters of Singapore’s Tier 1 media outlets, as well as leading trade publications across Asia Pacific, including China, India, and Malaysia.
PACT in Action: Events & Engagements
- Live News Interview with Channel NewsAsia
WBCSD CEO President Peter Bakker spoke with Channel NewsAsia about the critical need for Scope 3 emissions action and the central role businesses must play in delivering climate solutions. This was followed by an interview in the evening news segment of SBF CEO, Kok Ping Soon. - Workshop on Supplier Engagement and Scope 3 Decarbonization
A hands-on session guided procurement and sustainability teams through the steps to engage suppliers in measuring and reducing carbon footprints at the product level, with guest speakers from SBF, Terrascope, and FairPrice. - Panel Discussion on Practical Implications of PACT-SBF collaboration
Experts from PACT, SBF and participating corporations explored how standardized PCF data will inform procurement decisions, investor assessments, and regulatory compliance. Watch the recording here.
Insights & Takeaways
Our time at Ecosperity Week confirmed that demand for scalable, business-smart decarbonization solutions is both urgent and widespread:
- Small and medium-sized enterprises are keen to reduce their climate impact but require clear guidance and accessible tools.
- Financial institutions, auditors, technology platforms, and verification bodies are increasingly focused on product-level emissions data.
- Standardization at scale can unlock supply chain efficiencies and drive meaningful Scope 3 reductions.
Looking Ahead
With SBF and other strategic partners, PACT’s goal in the Asia-Pacific region is to:
- Mainstream Product-Level Carbon Transparency
Ensure that PCF data becomes a routine part of procurement, reporting, and investment analysis. - Drive Scope 3 Reductions
Equip companies of all sizes with the methodologies and incentives needed to cut downstream emissions. - Enable a Just, Inclusive Transition
Support SMEs and emerging economies through capacity building, technical assistance, and shared best practices.
