PACT Methodology V2: Guidance for the Accounting and Exchange of Product Life Cycle Emissions

The PACT Methodology (previously known as the Pathfinder Framework) builds on and leverages existing standards to provide guidance on calculation, data integrity, assurance and verification, and exchange of cradle-to-gate PCFs, with the aim of creating more granular, comparable, and consistent emissions data.

Please note: PACT Methodology V2 is withdrawn and PACT Methodology V3 released 30 April 2025 shall be used for all new PCF calculations. PCFs calculated with PACT Methodology V2 prior to the release of V3 shall remain valid and may be used for three years from day of calculation unless otherwise requiring recalculation. Recalculation is required when: 1) there are major changes (>10%) in production processes within the validity period OR2) the product contains significant biogenic or land sector related emissions (i.e., when a product is (partly) bio-based and contains over 5% biogenic carbon content). In these cases the PCF shall be recalculated using the latest PACT Methodology V3.
